Awards

The Miller Place Athletic Booster Club hosts the Senior Athlete Dinner and Awards Night where many awards and scholarships are announced in conjunction with the Miller Place Athletic Association. These include the Athletes Helping Athletes Leadership Award, the Arlete Conklin Memorial Award for Racquet Sports, the Ideal Athlete Award, the Joe Keany Memorial Award for Dedication to Track, the John Douglas Memorial Scholar Athlete award, the Judy Stamatis-Kopleman Spirit of Competition Award, the Pamela Waltz Memorial Scholarship, and the prestigious Walter P. McCoyd Outstanding Senior Athlete Award given by the Miller Place Booster Club.

Walter P. McCoyd Outstanding Senior Athlete Award

Presented by the Miller Place Athletic Booster Club is given to a male and female athlete who excels throughout his/her school career, is an exceptional athlete that sets a good example both on and off the field, displays qualities of leadership, sportsmanship, selflessness, and concern for the team and its members.

Walter P. McCoyd Outstanding Senior Athlete Award qualifications for consideration:

  • Must be a senior graduating in June 2023

  • All seniors who have participated as a volunteer for MP Booster Club events and activities throughout their school career (Sign up at a Booster Club Meeting)

  • MP Booster Club family membership as of October 1, 2022
